Egg Donors Changing Their Minds - what do you think and my ramblings
Recently, I have had several clients whose egg donors have backed out on them - all at different stages in the process.? It is very upsetting for all involved, as many have to start over and/or have their surrogate wait.? It is even worse when medications have already commenced.? What is even more upsetting is that the donor is often an experienced donor and knows what the process entails and what is involved.? Albeit, one cannot be controlled or "forced" to move forward, but my ramblings are more to let parents and surrogates know that this can happen without malice involved.? Each one of our lives are unique and complicated, and we can often not control each and every aspect.? On the other hand, I do hope in my heart of hearts that donors understand going in that this is something that they must remain committed to.? Specifically, things do happen, but I would hope that we make decisions in our lives that affect the least amount of people.? I would hate to see a donor back out for "more money from another agency."? And, that is my ten cents.?
